I am grateful to auntie Julene who had journeyed with me since 4 years ago when I started my secondary education after i had been diagnosed with dyslexia.

I started to learn from basics in reading and processing words. This had slowly helped me to overcome my challenge of reading comprehension and eventually scored an A for literature at my IGCSE. I also had poor understanding of concepts in Maths and Brendon would creatively guide me to see the patterns through numerous Maths practices. Lastly uncle Daniel would patiently help me to break down difficult concepts in chemistry and biology; I went on to score A* in three of these subjects.

In addition to coaching me in academics, auntie Julene also provided me with emotional counselling and taught me mindfulness techniques so I am self-aware to regulate my emotions. With this stability, I can learn better. Thank you very much auntie Julene, uncle Dan and Brendon.

Our family would like to heartily thank Julene, Daniel and Brendan for their patience and encouragement in journeying with our daughter. Samantha had started her journey with Learning Hearts since G7 (Sec 1) 6 months after being diagnosed with dyslexia in P6. Throughout these 4 years...

True to their belief, Julene and her team of therapists had supported Sam's growth both academically and emotionally. Sam grew to be a confident student, mindfully aware of her learning needs and became a motivated learner.

The jouney was not without struggles and challenges; she had to unlearn what she had learnt from typical tutoring teaching pedagogy to being 'therapied' where she and the therapist would work together to close the learning gaps. We often had to prioritise Sam's therapy sessions over her other commitments to ensure the therapy is consistent and regular. Julene and her team also made every effort to conduct additional sessions whenever Sam required them especially near critical exams.

Apart from the exemplary achievements obtained from the recent IGCSE examinations, Learning Hearts had nurtured Samantha to be a self-discerning learner which will serve her well in future learning. As a parent, I had also benefitted from many honest and open conversations with Julene in learning to provide emotional support for Samantha. In all, it had been a fulfilling journey with Learning Hearts.

I was confused and a bit worried about going up to high school next year and taking English Literature as a subject. I did not know what it was about and felt that I would surely struggle in the subject.

I agreed to go for the introductory sessions on English Literature and I learned so much, thanks to Aunty Julene. I also made a few new friends.

I am more confident now as I am able to analyze a text and identify the technique used by an author. I can also pick out the meaning or moral behind the text written.

I am now able to write a story better and have learned to be more creative in my writing so that it does not seem too bland. I would like to continue learning as there is still so much more which I don’t know yet.

Julene and Learning Hearts have been able to coax from my daughter mathematical skills she never knew she possessed. As a Math graduate myself, I was enthralled when I found that my daughter now has confidence in her mental arithmetic and isn't cowed by difficult word problems.

Beginning with equipping her with skills to deal with dyslexia, Julene and her team have been diligently working with my daughter to help her tackle math and building sound concept that will help her throughout her life.

I cannot express enough how much I am impressed by the ingenious and logical techniques imparted to my daughter. I hope other parents too will find the support and help their children need in Julene and her methods. The results are not instantaneous but the impact is definitely longlasting.

I met Julene the month before my oldest daughter started mainstream primary school. My daughter was one of those singled out to attend English reading lessons prior to the start of school. She wasn't able to read fluently then and I knew this would be an issue.

I then engaged Julene to teach both my oldest and younger daughters on a private basis. Ju had a knack of knowing what the girls needed. When it was time to call in the educational psychologist despite extensive therapy, she helped facilitate the process. She was with us during the most difficult times, through the diagnostic process, even in assuring me that all will be well even with both girls being diagnosed with learning disabilities. Whenever each of them needed extra help or attention, Ju would not hesitate to highlight this to me and would give them the extra help they needed. Especially in their final years leading up to their national exams, the girls would both fight to get a slot with Ju. Who does that? But it's kudos to the love and acceptance that Ju has instilled in the girls. They have such confidence in themselves that no one would know that they have any learning disability.

I'm just grateful to God for putting Ju in our path. She's not just their therapist, she's become their friend and confidante. Truly hard to find a gem like her, and though not the ultimate goal, both girls did extremely well in their Ns and O's - A1 for English and Lit (almost unheard of for a dyslexic child!), single-digit aggregate as well as direct Poly admission.

Two of our children had learning disabilities and could not keep pace with their peers in school. They needed specialized help. We did not know how to help them, but Julene did. In her care, our daughter regained her confidence her reading, spelling and mathematics.

Our son who was delayed in his speech was finally able to learn his alphabet too! We are very grateful for Julene's expertise and kindness that has so profoundly impacted the lives of our children and brought joy in our family.

Our son came under the tutelage of Julene when he was 13, who was recommended by both our educational psychologist and occupational therapist. Julene imparted effective study skills and strategies that helped him become an effective and enthusiastic student.

As his academic results improved, his self confidence also increased. This now translates into a recurring systematic approach to learning new skills and subjects, long after he had left Learning Hearts Therapy. Julene is more than an educational therapist; she is a friend to students and parents alike. She is empathetic, kind, approachable, fun-loving and yet remains driven to ensure her students grow up to be independent and effective learners, and more importantly, to find joy in life Long learning! Thank you Julene!

The name Learning Hearts is apt as the people who make this learning centre happen, operate from their hearts. I first met Julene, who my son affectionately calls Aunty Ju, in early 2018. She was recommended by my son's educational psychologist. I am grateful that she put me in contact with Julene. From the first phone call, I knew that she had my child's interest at heart...

We started with Julene for learning therapy at first. My son was identified with profound dyslexia and he has a lot of anxiety, especially separation anxiety. My son then moved on to be guided by Ellen, and together they put my son at ease. So much so that he looks forward to learning therapy weekly! Fast forward, and my son has improved by leaps and bounds. We will always be in touch with Julene and Ellen, even after Dean graduates from Learning Hearts, as Julene and Ellen are now our confidants. Thank you! Love Aized & Dean

All children are capable of learning, however

Some children simply require a different system of learning, or a different style of teaching

The video showcases a student of Learning Hearts Therapy before and after our reading programme. The child came to us barely able to read and with severe gaps in his english education. Watch the video above to see how much his confidence and ability to read and comprehend increased after 20 sessions in our Programme.
